Here at Iconic Interiors we love the Tulip range by Eero Saarinen. We have decided to dedicate an area of our Cheshire showroom to this beautiful range.

The Eames lounge chair and ottoman have been the ultimate symbol of stylish relaxation for over a half a century and have rightly earned their place in the furniture hall of fame.

They are still as relevant and versatile today as they were when first conceived by visionary husband and wife designers Charles and Ray Eames in 1956. This is largely due to the fact the Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman have always been crafted to the same exact specifications, and with the same eye for quality materials.

We are in the process of setting up an area within our Cheshire furniture showroom dedicated to the Tulip range inspired by Eero Saarinen. The range will include marble dining tables, marble coffee tables, marble side tables, dining chairs and stools.

We have been meaning to upholster the Eames Lounger with a distressed/aged black leather for some time now. We have used the leather on a number of pieces before. For example we had a very happy customer who upholstered the LC3 Corbusier Grand Confort chairs with this leather.

Today I had an idea for a short video. This week I'd been asked the same question 3 or 4 times. The question being, "how long will the chair last?" It then occurred to me that my favourite chair for reading and watching the box is my Iconic Interiors 7 year old Eames Lounger covered in old chestnut leather.

I love this chair. Seriously. It has everything: stunning looks and extreme comfort. I thought, I know a great idea for a video. Why don't I compare my investment 2001 Vitra Eames lounge chair with my 7 year old (2011) Iconic Interior's lounge chair? Afterall, this is exactly what my customers want. They want the next best thing to the licensed piece. So what's better than doing a comparison video between the two loungers. Enjoy the video.
