Eames Lobby Chairs

I'm delighted to be able to introduce to our range the Eames Lobby chair. It has been quite a challenge finding a good supplier. Just at the point were I was going to give up a supplier contacted Iconic Interiors. Sometimes we're just lucky like that. ;-) We requested a couple of chairs to assess the build quality and attention to detail. We gave the chairs a thorough examination and thankfully they passed with flying colours.

As soon as I saw the Eames Lobby chair design a few years ago I was in love with it. I didn't realise a desk chair cum office chair could look so, well, God damn sexy! When researching the chair online I came across a quote which in many ways summed up my feelings for this beautiful chair, "The images of his beloved Eames Executive chair capture every angle, every sumptuous curve, coming as close to pornography as photos of furniture can come." What more can you say?

This enthusiasm is well justified, Charles and Ray Eames' design for the Time-Life building in New York is, I do believe, the epitome of the 1960s executive office chair: with its thick buttoned cushions wrapped in aniline leather and finished off with chrome. As with all our pieces of furniture, it gave me immense pleasure to shoot the Lobby chair in the photography studio. With certain pieces it's difficult not to shoot great photographs.

We are offering the chairs with a fixed position four star base, or a five star base with castors and a gas lift, tilt function. Initial colour offerings are brown, black and red.
