They defined the “mid century modern” style of furniture, with their organic, innovative designs, extendeding their considerable influence to architecture, exhibition design, photography, film-making, and manufacturing.

Using the same technology that led to the invention of Eames’ Plywood chairs, the Eames Moulded Plywood Coffee table was designed in 1946 and caught the eye of Herman Miller and George Nelson – a manufacturer of office furniture and a Modern Designer respectfully – when they saw the Coffee table exhibited at the MoMA. Miller has been manufacturing the design faithfully for the last 50 years and as a result it has become a modern iconic piece of furniture, with its curved legs and saucer like top.
Like all of Eames’ designs, the Plywood Coffee table has a simplistic look and feel yet provides a quality in furniture that is second to none.
Eames set out to make furniture that was comfortable, affordable and easily mass produced. As a result, he and his wife created iconic furniture, where originals are owned by collectors from all over the world.
